Reality Check

The article linked below, claims the Affordable Care Act is a success because 7.1 million people have signed up.  In a nation of 311 million, that's an interesting conclusion upon which to draw.  If my math is correct, this figure indicates just under 2.5 percent of the population has complied with this mandate.  If my math is indeed correct, that also means 97.5 percent of the population have made a different choice.

Realistically speaking, if President Obama's campaign for president had received 2.5 percent of the vote, success would not be the term used to describe the outcome.  As a matter of fact, this raises several questions regarding our election system, all together;  but I digress.

The fact that a little over seven million people have been bullied or intimidated into health coverage and our present administration considers that to be a success, is a sad, sad reflection on so many levels, of the state of our union.

An Oldie but a Goodie

This story just touched me.  In all the bad news reported on a daily basis, we should stop and remember the wonder of creation and recognize the handiwork of our Creator.

Compliance!

I've truly been amazed how many apparently well read citizens who consider themselves intelligent and informed have discounted so many obvious warning signs and have literally disregarded and disrespected  the reports outside of mainstream media, while saying mainstream media cannot be trusted!
Here in the Show-Me state one of our legislators has actually made a spectacle of himself.

Duty Free Zone

In international travel there was a point, it seemed in every flight in which the flight attendant became a sales person, through what was called the "Duty Free Zone."  That basically consisted of a measured amount of area, in which no country had power to attach a sales tax to the purchase of an item.  This was, of course, the time to buy something expensive!

It has come to my attention that hospitals seem to have declared that same "duty free zone" once you cross their threshold.  Very expensive things happen, and the American Bill of Rights no longer applies.  That's why there is now, in place, for your protection (cough * cough) the Patient's Bill of Rights.  Keep in mind, the facility is the grantor and interpreter of this piece of paper, as federally legislated.

If the American Bill of Rights were respected in this new arm of government power, medical care; would we need a Patient's Bill of Rights?
